이 노래는 아일랜드 공화국군의 공격을 받아 숨진 한 영국인 병사가 가족에게 남긴 시 'A Thousand Winds'가 원작으로 2001년 9ㆍ11 테러 추도식에서 아버지를 잃은 소녀가 낭독해 전 세계에 널려 알려졌습니다.. 대표적인 곡이 테너 아키가와 마사후미(秋川雅史)가 부른 '천 개의 바람이 되어(千の風になって)'로 일본 클래식 음반 사상 처음으로 100만 장을 돌파하는 위업을 달성했습니다.
