서풍에 부치는 노래 (Ode to the West Wind)

나를 너의 거문고가 되게 하라, 저 숲처럼 내 잎새가 숲처럼 떨어진들 어떠랴!

Make me thy lyre, even as the forest is: What if my leaves are falling like its own! 너의 힘찬 조화의 난동이 우리에게서, 슬프지만 달콤한 가락을 얻으리라.

The tumult of thy mighty harmonies Will take from both a deep, autumnal tone, Sweet though in sadness. 너 거센 정신이여, 내 정신이 되어라, 너 내가 되어라, 강렬한 자여!

Be thou, Spirit fierce, My spirit! Be thou me, impetuous one! 내 꺼져가는 사상을 온 우주에 몰아라 새 생명을 재촉하는 시든 잎사귀처럼!

Drive my dead thoughts over the universe Like withered leaves to quicken a new birth! 그리고 이 시의 주문에 의하여, 꺼지지 않는 화로의 재와 불꽃처럼 인류에게 내 말을 퍼뜨려라!

And, by the incantation of this verse, Scatter, as from an unextinguished hearth Ashes and sparks, my words among mankind! 내 입술을 통하여 잠 깨지 않는 대지에 예언의 나팔을 불어라! 

Be through my lips to unawakened Earth The trumpet of a prophecy! 오오, ‘바람’이여, 겨울이 오면 어찌 봄이 멀 것이랴?

O Wind, If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?
